    Bereavement Program Coordinator

     

     

    BAYADA Hospice is currently seeking a Part Time Hospice Bereavement Program Coordinator for our Hospice office located in Shelburne, VT. This part time position is approximately 20-25 hours per week.

     

    Full time opportunity also available for MSW interested in combining the Bereavement Program Coordinator position with hospice social work visits.

     

    This individual will be a member of an experienced hospice care team that provides assessments, education, and symptom management related to end of life care for patients. The ideal candidate will have prior experience as a Spiritual Counselor or Social Worker in hospice or palliative care. Strong organizational skills required as your primary focus will be to coordinate the program. Coordination includes mailings, scheduling bereavement group, outreach, coordinate visits of spiritual counseling staff. 

     

    The Bereavement Coordinator will be responsible for managing the bereavement services program and will lead office and field staff in providing excellent customer service and quality hospice care with focus on coordination and delivery of bereavement services.

     

    Responsibilities

    Bereavement Coordinator responsibilities include:

    • Demonstrate and communicate the core values of BAYADA Hospice and the BAYADA Way.
    • Manage the bereavement services programs utilizing professional staff and volunteers as appropriate to the service or event.
    • Oversee adequacy and appropriateness of bereavement programs for family members.
    • Develop new bereavement programs and services as needed.
    • Develop educational programs and materials for patients/families, staff and the community on loss, grief and coping with bereavement. Maintain the bereavement component of the staff library.
    • Plan, implement and supervise bereavement group events.
    • Supervise support staff involved in bereavement program. 
    • Partner with the Volunteer Coordinator to oversee the volunteer component of the bereavement service
    • Conduct the bereavement section of the interdisciplinary team conference. 

     

    Qualifications

    Bereavement Coordinator Qualifications include:

    • A Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Theology; Master’s Degree preferred.
    • Prior experience working in Hospice and/or MSW preferred.
    • Demonstrated record of strong interpersonal skills.
    • Demonstrated record of goal achievement.
    • Demonstrated record of successfully taking on more responsibility with positive results and ambition to grow past current position.
    • Prior experience in hospice or palliative care preferred.
