Speech Language Pathologist, SLP for Senior Living Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities in Langhorne, PA.


Looking for a change of pace over the next year?  Enjoy working with children and adults with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities but ready to move outside of a school-based program?  BAYADA's Bucks County Senior Living office offers a unique opportunity for a Full-time Speech Language Pathologist, SLP to provide skilled visits to seniors (55+) with developmental and intellectual disabilities in their group home and workshop settings. Now, using the skills you have developed while working with children and young adults, you can support both the intellectual and functional advancement of these same individuals in a different stage of life.  


With the support of your BAYADA Home Health Care clinical team, you can make a difference in the lives of seniors with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities by closely collaborating with community caregivers of designated group homes and workshops.  As a clinician on this specialized team, you will be creating a safer home and work environment for each of your clients, based upon their individual needs, while supporting their care planning and creating an environment that allows them to thrive as senior citizens.


Prior experience working with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities is required.







Responsibilities for a Speech-Language Pathologist, SLP, include:

  • Make home visits to clients in designated geographic territories.
  • Perform thorough evaluations to assess, diagnose, and provide therapeutic interventions for clients who are experiencing speech, language, communication, or swallowing difficulties.
  • Develop a treatment plan based on the evaluation, physician’s orders, and recommended goals.  
  • Continually assess and revise the speech therapy care plan, and participate with BAYADA Clinicians in the multidisciplinary care plan, as appropriate. 
  • Educate and instruct patients, family members, or other patient representatives, in rehabilitative care and activities necessary to promote the client's health, safety, and independent living. 
  • Accurately document observations, interventions, and evaluations pertaining to patient care management and services provided, utilizing a state-of-the-art touch pad tablet.


Qualifications for a Speech-Language Pathologist, SLP, include:

  • Must possess a valid and current Speech-Language Pathologist license in the State of Pennsylvania.
  • Must possess a certificate of clinical competence in speech from the American Speech and Hearing Association, or
  • Have the equivalent educational requirements, as indicated by school transcript or diploma, and work experience necessary for such a certificate and be awaiting the opportunity to take the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association examination for certification, or
  • Have completed the necessary work and education requirements, as indicated by school transcript or diploma, and be in the process of accumulating the necessary supervised work experience required for certification, and
  • Have a minimum of one (1) year prior experience as a licensed SLP.
