Job Title: Grant Writer

 

BAYADA Home Care is currently seeking an experienced Grant Writer to work with our non-profit offices in Hawaii.  Physical placement in Hawaii is not required although preferred; position is PART TIME.

BAYADA Home Care not only provide 1:1 supports in the home, community, and schools with children and young adults with Intellectual and/ or Developmental Disabilities – We, BAYADA Home Care, also, provide acute care nursing and assistive care services to children, adults, and seniors in the comfort of their homes (i.e. support with ADLs, trach / vent care, and support w/ needs such as: light housekeeping and transportation services.)

 

BAYADA will pay for your training as well as provide you with extensive supervision and mentoring.  

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for conducting the full range of activities required to prepare, submit, and manage grants and RFPs to foundation, corporate and government sources
  • Perform prospect research on foundations, corporations and government website to evaluate prospects for grant and RFP
  • Work with finance to gather information necessary to report to corporate, foundation or government funders on current grant programs.
  • Comply with all grant reporting as required by foundation, corporate government donors.
  • Maintain current records in database and in paper files, including grant tracking and reporting.
  • Track statistics relevant to development and provide department with written materials necessary for donor stewardship (visitor number and diversity, educational program attendance, etc).

 

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Strong written communication skills; ability to write clear, structured, articulate, and persuasive proposals.
  • Strong editing skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of fundraising information sources.
  • Experience with proposal writing
  • Knowledge of basic fundraising techniques and strategies.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with research techniques for fundraising prospect research.
  • Strong contributor in team environments
  • able to work independently 

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree required
  • Minimum of two years’ experience with grant writing.
  • Previous experience with non-profit fundraising.
  • Experience working in deadline-driven environments.
  • Able to work well in a team environment, handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
  • Able to monitor and meet income goals.
